Conesville- Sofia "Sherry" Kollisch, 89, of Bull Hill Road, died Friday, October 28, 2011 at Robinson Terrace Nursing Home in Stamford, NY, where she had been a resident for the past month.
Born August 17, 1922 in Morristown, NJ, she was the daughter of Steve and Olga (Karman) Chwat.
Sherry and her family moved to Conesville in 1965 from the Bronx. For several years she worked the assemblyline at Audio Sears in Stamford.
She was of Catholic faith and frequently attended Our Lady of the Valley in Middleburgh.
Sherry found pleasure in knitting, crotcheting, and sewing. She also loved nature and enjoyed many walks.
She was predeceased by her husband, Frank, who died in 1996.
Survivors include her daughter, April (Robert A.) Kollisch-Robinson of Conesville; a son, Frank (Stephanie) Kollisch of Mastic Beach, NY; two grandsons: Damien F.C. (Grace Murray) Robinson of West Fulton, and Julian S.G. (Carolyn) Robinson of Ithaca; and a great-granddaughter, Brielle Robinson of West Fulton.
A graveside service will be held at Keyserkill Cemetery on Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2011 at 12:00 PM (noon) with Father Thomas Holmes officiating. There will be no public calling hours.
