Summit- Mrs. Shirley A. Potter, 70, of Cottage Lane, died Saturday, Nov. 10, 2007 at Bassett Healthcare in Cooperstown, NY.
Mrs. Potter was born July 4, 1937 in Elizabethtown, NY, the daughter of John and Elizabeth (Corbett) Mitchell.
Mrs. Potter was a driver for Schoharie County Public Transportation and she assisted others. Shirley had two dear friends, Mary and Pat, who cared for her in her time of need. Shirley enjoyed country living and loved her dog dearly.
She was predeceased by her husband Edward Potter, who died in February 2003,
and her siblings, Samuel, Dorothy, John, William Mitchell, Mary Cross, and Marjorie Straight.
Survivors include 4 sisters: Anna MacDougal of Schenectady, Ruby White of Flints, MI, Margaret Baker of Gloversville, and Alice Bordon of Westport, NY; 2 brothers: Harry Mitchell of Ballston Spa, and Leslie Mitchell of Jay, NY; 2 step-daughters: Andrea Berardi of Penfield, NY, and Michele Potter-Costello of Schenectady; a step-son, Kurt Potter of North Carolina; 4 step-grandchildren and a brother-in-law, Eugene Potter.
A period of visitation will be held from 1 to 3 PM on Thursday, Nov. 15, at the Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home 171 Elm Street Cobleskill. There will be no funeral service and burial will be private.
