It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Shirley B. Moore, 87, on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at the Cooperstown Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing following a long illness.
Shirley was born July 3, 1936, in the Town of Root. She was the daughter of Oscar B. and Bertha M. (Shafer) Coger. She was a graduate of the former Cobleskill Central School.
Shirley was a loving and caring wife, mother and Nana to her grandchildren and great grandchildren with a deep devotion to her family. Shirley was a homemaker and owned and operated her own ceramic shop. She was a a communicant of St. Vincent de Paul Church in Cobleskill.
She was predeceased by her husband of 67 years, Joseph F. Moore on August 4, 2023 and her five older siblings Howard Coger, Doris Baker, Ruth Cooper, Clara Lappeus, and Myrtle Elliott.
Forever cherishing her memories are her daughters: Tamera (James) Loder of Richmondville and Vicki (Stephen) Hoerz of Middleburgh; three grandchildren: Courtney (Ben) Narkis, Brett (Kristen) Loder, and Joshua Hoerz; five great-grandchildren: Ashley Narkis, Natalie Narkis, Sadie Hoerz, Jolene Loder and Jameson Loder and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to a period of visitation to be held from 10 to 12 PM (noon) on Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 138 Washington Ave., Cobleskill with a celebration of Shirley’s life to be held at 12 noon with Rev. Joseph Arockiasamy as celebrant. Burial will be in Cobleskill Rural Cemetery immediately following the Mass. All are welcome to a luncheon at the church hall (lower level) after the burial.
She will be forever missed.
