Shawn Dargie

Cobleskill- Shawn D. Dargie, formerly of Cobleskill, died Wednesday, November 15, 2017, at Capstone Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing in Amsterdam where he had been a resident for the past five years.

Born September 13, 1965 in Bridgeport CT., he was the son of the late Douglas J. and Catherine (Worthington) Dargie.

Shawn was a 1984 graduate of the former Cobleskill Central School where he was active in the select choir, played piano, and was a participant in all the school plays.  He graduated in 1988 from Hartwick College with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration where he was a fraternity brother of Alpha Sigma Phi.

Shawn was also a worldwide traveler and thoroughly enjoyed being in the company of others.

Survivors include his sister, Tonya Swift (John Monton) of Cobleskill; his brother, John (Roxanne) Dargie of Gloversville; a very special cousin, Beth (Robin) Ruland of Johnsonville; nephew, Patrick Swift of Alabama; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins along with numerous fraternity brothers and friends.

Family and friends are invited to a period of visitation to be held from 12PM to 2PM on Saturday, December 2, 2017, at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill.  A Celebration of Life will commence at 2 PM immediately following the visitation.
