Middleburgh- Salvatore (Sal) Anthony Fringo, born in Brooklyn, NY to Louis and Theresa (Tessie Falcone) Fringo on November 8, 1940, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2010. His heart just got tired and quit. His wife, Anne (Cummings) Fringo was at his side.

Sal was an avid hunter, went on many hunting trips to Wyoming, Alaska, and Canada with extreme good luck on all and has a wall of trophy heads to show for it. He owned and operated Windy Ridge Distributing, a general merchandise store. He and his parents had Fringo Diner for many years. He was the first to import blue tarps from Korea into New York. Buying and selling were his way of life until his health stopped him.

He enjoyed his children, Louis A. Fringo, and Brenda J. Borge, he was predeceased by daughter, Margaret T. and grandson, Aryck; six other grandchildren survive him: Salvatore, Sarah, Anthony, Alisa, Arylle, and Alina.

He enjoyed playing poker with his poker club at his home. He was a great story teller and had a close circle of friends and enjoyed them all.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 23, 2010 at Palmer & Shaylor Funeral Home, 134 River St., Middleburgh with Edward Cummings presiding. Family and friends are also invited to a period of visitation to be held from 6 to 8 PM on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Breakabeen Cemetery.
