Sally Fitzgerald

Sharon Springs- Sally H. Fitzgerald, 67, of State Route 145, died Friday, February 3, 2012 at her residence with her loving husband at her side.

Born October 25, 1944 in Schenectady, she was the daughter of Nicholas and Helen (Price) Hoffman. Sally was a 1962 graduate of Scotia-Glenville High School.

For many years she was a legal secretary in the Schenectady area, most recently for the firm of McGivern, Shaw, and O'Conner.

In 1990 she and her husband moved from Scotia to Sharon Springs. Sally loved gardening and enjoyed listening to Neil Diamond. She was a member for Literacy Volunteers of America in both the Schenectady and Cobleskill areas. At one time, Sally was a stringer for the Times Journal.

She was a member of the Zion/St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Seward and Sharon Springs.

Survivors include her husband, Richard Fitzgerald, whom she married Aug. 27, 1966 at The Good Shepard Lutheran Church in Burnt Hills; her two sons: Christopher Fitzgerald of Troy, NY and Jeffrey (Melissa) Fitzgerald of Swanzey, NH; granddaughter, Madighan Fitzgerald and grandson, Kiernan Fitzgerald, both of Swanzey, NH; her two brothers: Nicholas Hoffman of Montgomery, TX, and Stephen Hoffman of Stamford, NY; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, February 10, 2012 at Zion/St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Seward with Rev. Paul Messner officiating. Family and friends are also invited to a period of visitation to be held at the church prior to the service, from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM. Burial will follow in Park Cemetery, Scotia.
