COBLESKILL-Ruth Jean Lawrence Warner, 84, passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2006, from pulmonary fibrosis, at her daughter's home in Cobleskill.
She was born in Rochester, NY, November 19,1921, moving to North Miami, Florida in 1926, and graduated from Miami Edison High School in 1939. She was the daughter of Earl D. and Hazel Bowman Lawrence. She married Max J. Warner (Franklin, NY) on January 28, 1943, moving to Schoharie, NY in 1950.
During the war, she was employed by Bendix Aviation in Sidney, NY, later employed by General Electric in Schenectady and then NYS Tax and Finance. After her husband's death in 1972, she retired in 1976 moving back to Florida to help care for her mother and father. There she was employed at Holmes Regional Medical Center.
She was predeceased by her mother, father, husband and sister-in-law, Nancy Lawrence.
She is survived by her brother, Kelsie Lawrence, Satellite Beach, FL; son, John (Catherine) Warner of Bossier City, LA; daughters: Judith (William) Cary, Cobleskill, June (Joe) Urschel, Delmar, and Jean Warner and Richard Kelehar, Palm Bay, FL; 8 Grandchildren: John, Nikki (Kevin) Webber and Christopher; Timothy, SSgt. Andrew, and Elizabeth Tator; and Jessica and Jason Urschel, as well as 3 great-grandchildren, Alexis, Brett, and Catherine Webber.
She was a past member of the Schoharie DAR, Colonial Dames; Indian River Genealogical Society, Mayflower Society, Order of the Eastern Star- Chapter 204, and a member of the Roseland United Methodist Church.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 Am on Saturday, March 25, at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home 171 Elm St. Cobleskill. Officiating will be Rev. Jennifer Dyer of the Zion Lutheran Church in Cobleskill. Friends may call from 6 to 8 PM on Friday, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Ouleout Cemetery, Franklin, NY
