Cobleskill- Ruth A. Sperbeck, 86, of Lincoln Ave., died Friday, November 25, 2022 at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown while in the company of her loving husband, son and daughter-in-law.
Born May 7, 1936 in Richmondville, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Goldie (Morrell) Parslow.
Ruth retired from SUNY Cobleskill where she was employed for 21 years with the Faculty/Student Association. She had also waitressed and cooked at both the former Pee Wee's Diner in Warnerville and the Cobleskill Bowling Lanes.
Ruth was a member of the Pilgrim Holiness Church in East Worcester.
She was predeceased by her siblings: Zora Mae Henry and Arthur and Herbert (Jake) Parslow.
For the past 12 years, her husband, Ronald J. Sperbeck had provided lovingly, care and comfort to Ruth as she suffered with encephalitis. They were married on June 6, 1954. She is also survived by her 4 children: Gary (Denise) Sperbeck of Richmondville, Kathleen (Anthony) Tubiolo of Cobleskill, William Sperbeck (Bonnie WIlliams) of Sprakers and Darlene (Clifford) Diamond of Spokane, WA; two sisters; Edith (Maurice) Carron of Amsterdam and Betty VanNatten of Cobleskill; 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to the funeral service that will be held at 11AM on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill with Rev. Richard Owens officiating. Visitation will take place prior to the service on Wednesday from 9:30 to 11AM. Burial will be in Cobleskill Rural Cemetery.
