Ruth Palma

Lawyersville- Ruth Marie Palma, 75, formerly of Lawyersville, died Thursday, May 24, 2012 at Mary Immaculate Hospice in Newport News, VA.

A native of Lawyersville, she and family moved to Newport News forty-five years ago. Ruth had been employed as a sales associate for KMART for ten years.

She was predeceased by her sisters: Velda, Emma, and Beverly, and brothers: Miner, Joseph, and Morris, along with her parents: Clifford and Beatrice (Jump) Salisbury.

Survivors include her husband, Peter Agusto Palma; daughter: Sandra L. Shaver; two sons: Peter A. Palma, Jr. and his wife, Marie L. Pernito Palma, and Jeffrey D. Palma and his wife, Sharon Garrett Palma; a sister: Joan DeMarco; her grandchildren: Nicholas J. Palma, Sr., and wife, Brandi M. Palma, Justin D. Shaver, Sadie L. Palma, Jesse C. Palma, Billy Joe Daniel, Travis S. Shaver, Amber L. Jones and her husband, Richard A. Jones; and great-grandchildren: Dayton C. Palma, Nicholas J. Palma, Jr., Lucas S. Palma, Cecilia M. Shaver, and Jonah J. Daniel.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at Cobleskill Rural Cemetery, Hillview Section. There will be no local calling hours.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill and Palmer & Shaylor Funeral Home, 134 River St., Middleburgh.
