Ruth Collins

Ruth E. Collins, 89, of Barnerville Rd., died Mon. Oct. 1, 2007 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady,NY following a long illness.

Mrs. Collins was born in the Town of Wright on June 13, 1918 a daughter of the late Charles and Florence Wolford Bogardus. Mrs. Collins was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Cobleskill and she worked at the Cobleskill Fairgrounds for 15 years. She also helped as a cashier for Cater's Auction Service for 28 years. Mrs. Collins loved gardening, picking strawberries and baking. She was an avid, lifelong, worker who found enjoyment in accomplishment.

She was predeceased by her husband, Elmer Collins, Jr. on Nov. 30, 1991 and by her brothers, Arthur and Kenneth Bogardus. Mrs. Collins is survived by:

A Funeral service will be held on Fri. Oct. 5, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. at the Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill, NY Pastor Jennifer Boyd of Zion Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will follow in the Seward Valley Cemetery, Dorloo, NY. Calling hours will be from 9A.M.-11A.M. prior to the service.
