Richmondville- Rose Marie Stanjones, 92, formerly of Richmondville, currently of East Greenbush, died Monday, January 8, 2024 in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Born July 14, 1931, in New York City, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Anna Marie (Lie) Christensen.
Rose Marie followed Jesus throughout her life with all her heart. She smuggled Bibles, visited missionaries around the world and was involved in different ministries here in the US. She was a kind and friendly person who enjoyed making friends and helping others in any way she could. Rose Marie demonstrated great courage in many aspects of her life and has been an example to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Rose Marie was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth Stanjones, on Nov. 7, 2018.
Cherishing their memories are her children: Mark (Donna) Haugli, Linda (Ron) Braaten, Lance (Robin) Haugli, Susan (Lawrence) Tong, James (Penny) Haugli and K.C. Stanjones; 18 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; her sister, Carol Ann (Mike) Poynor and Tara Lonnigan, family friend.
A funeral service will be held at 12PM on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill with Rev. Jay T. Francis officiating. Family and friends are also invited to a period of visitation to be held at the funeral home prior to the service Saturday, from 10AM to 12PM. Burial will take place in Richmondville Rural Cemetery in the spring.
