Rose Mace

Breakabeen- Rose M. Mace, 88, of Walhalla Road, died Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at A.O. Fox Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.

Born August 1, 1927 in Gilboa, she was the daughter of Newell and Mary (Becker) Miller.

Rose served as the clerk for the Town of Fulton for many years before retirement. She was involved with the board of elections, was town historian, operated and volunteered at the Breakabeen Keith Nelson Food Pantry, worked at the former co-op on Middlefort Road, Middleburgh, and was a foster parent.

Rose was a charter member of MEVAC, a member of Breakabeen Presbyterian Church and North Blenheim United Methodist Church.

Rose was predeceased by her husband, Donald, who died March 22, 2010 and a granddaughter, Erin Lynn Perrotti.

Survivors include her children: Coleen (Larry) Perrotti of Sloansville, Don (Cindi) Mace of Delanson, Mary (Chi) Chichester of Middleburgh, and John (Pam) Mace of Cobleskill; six grandchildren: Beverly (Pete) LeRuzic of Schoharie, Larry (Cynthia) Perrotti of Sloansville, Paul (Christina) Mace of Callicoon, NY, Kristen (Adam) Cooke of Gilboa, Casey (Dana) Chichester of Breakabeen, and Amber (William) Papas of Blenheim; and eight great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at Palmer & Shaylor Funeral Home, 134 River St., Middleburgh with Rev. Neil Irwin officiating. A period of visitation will be held at the funeral home prior to the service from 4 to 7 PM. At her request, Rose gifted to Albany Medical College an anatomical donation.
