Rose Kodra

Cobleskill: Rose L. Kodra, 88, of Mineral Springs Road, died Wednesday, January 4, 2017, in the arms of her children.

Rose was born on July 23, 1928 in the family home in Gardnersville to Cecelia (Mihelick) and Frank Lipar.

She loved to read and started first grade at the age of 4 graduating at 16. Rose worked as a secretary at Niagra Mohawk for 11 years, before leaving to raise her family and work the family farm, retiring in 1987.

Her greatest joy was caring for her family and made sure everyone's birthday, anniversary and holiday was special.

Rose was married to the love of her life, Michael Kodra, Jr. for 60 years, until he predeceased her on August 19, 2016.

Rose is survived by her daughter, Debra (Stephen) Wioreck of Amsterdam; son, Michael Kodra, III of Cobleskill; sister, Florence Roach of Gardnersville and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A private graveside service will be held in Seward Valley Cemetery.
