Cobleskill- Mrs. Rose E. Kaufman, 82, of Hammerstone Village Apartments, died unexpectedly on Saturday, November 8, 2008 at Cobleskill Regional Hospital
Mrs. Kaufman was born May 9, 1926 in Rome, NY, the daughter of Fred L. and Agnes (McCarthy) Clark.
She retired from St. Anne's Institute for Girls in Albany, where she was a child caregiver. Prior to that, Rose was a matron at the Albany Police Barracks. For the past eleven years, she had lived in Cobleskill after moving from Latham.
Mrs. Kaufman was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Jamesville, and was an avid bowler.
She was of Catholic faith.
Mrs. Kaufman was predeceased by two sisters; Mary and Agnes, both of Jamesville.
Survivors include her two daughters: Lynn (Thomas) Goss of Knox, NY, and Carol (William) Pratt of Bronson, FL; a sister, Frances Rickey of Baldwin; two brothers: Leo (Barbara) Clark of Jamesville, and Fred Clark of Syracuse; her grandchildren: Susan Pratt and her son, Ryan, Thomas Michael Goss and his children, Christopher, Amanda, and Ashley Goss; Sandra Beliveau and son, Dustin Crockett; and James Goss and his 3 sons: Tristan, Gabriel, and Julian Goss.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home 171 Elm Street Cobleskill with Sister Connie James officiating. Family and friends are also invited to call from 1 to 2 PM on Wednesday, prior to the service.
Burial will be private at the Pine Plains Cemetery, Syracuse.
