Summit- Rose V. Giordano, 66, of Spruce Lake Road, died Monday, January 2, 2012 at her residence following a long illness.

Born February 14, 1945 in Brooklyn, she was a daughter of Michael and Mary (Abbata) Giordano.

Rose had been a resident of Summit for many years and was proprietor of Summit Salon. She found pleasure in painting and working with cut glass. Rose was the recipient of "Best Appearing Car" for over twenty consecutive years at the Sunshine Fair in Cobleskill. She designed and painted her son's, Michael, demolition derby cars.

Survivors include her two sons: Michael Bruno of Summit and Vincent Bruno of Staten Island; her lifetime companion: Terry Thomas of Summit; her three grandchildren: Michael and Alyssa Bruno of Summit and Jason Bruno of Staten Island; and her sister, Isabelle Scarfone of New Jersey.

A prayer service will be held at 7:30 PM, Thursday, January 5, 2012 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 5 to 7:30 PM on Thursday, prior to the service. Spring interment will be in Summit Cemetery.
