Roland Hayes

Middleburgh: Roland "Choo" Hayes, 70, of Creekside Lane, died Saturday November 23, 2013 at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany following a brief illness.

"Choo" was born on September 28, 1943 to Bertha (Mickelle) and Clarence Hayes

He worked as a carpenter for the Carpenter's Local #291 in Albany for many years.

"Choo" enjoyed hunting ducks, deer, trap shooting and playing cards. "Choo" also enjoyed collecting and driving classic cars.

He was predeceased by his wife, Tracy (Daring) Hayes.

"Choo" is survived by his daughters: Babette (Marc) Beckley of Melbourne, FL, Michelle (Darin) Zauner of Melbourne, FL; grandchildren: Amanda (Austin) Akey of Melbourne , FL., DJ (Paige) Zauner of Palm Bay, FL., Ezekiel Zauner of Melbourne, FL., Mariah Capone of Middleburgh, Gabrielle Capone of Melbourne, FL., Anna Zauner ofMelbourne, FL.; great-grandson: William Zauner of Palm Bay, FL.; sister: Holly (George) Corneau of Middleburgh; brothers: Robert (Kathy) Hayes of Ballston Spa, Larry Hayes of Saratoga, Gary Hayes of Middleburgh and Paul "Oscar" Hayes of Middleburgh; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 7:00PM on Tuesday November 26, 2013 at the Palmer & Shaylor Funeral Home, 134 River St., Middleburgh. Rev. Carol Coltrain of the Huntersland United Methodist Church will officiate. A period of visitation will be held from 6-7PM prior to the service at the funeral home. Inurnment will be at the family's convenience in the Middleburgh Cemetery.
