Roger Allen

Cobleskill - Roger C. Allen, 61, of Main St., died Saturday January 31, 2009 at the Cobleskill Regional Hospital, Cobleskill, NY following a brief illness.

Mr. Allen was born on July 13, 1947 in Charlotteville, NY, the son of the late Margaret (McMullen) and Minard Allen.

He was a laborer by trade, most recently working for Mill Services in Cobleskill, NY. He enjoyed picnics, softball and attending the Cobleskill Sunshine Fair.

Mr. Allen was predeceased by his parents and his sisters, Leola Sisson and Hazel Swint.

Survivors include his companion of 40 years, Sandra Kiewlicz, 9 sisters, Gladys Lashway, Emma Guy, Cheryl Achley, Evelyn (Richard) Dearstyne, Alice Stopa, Linda Knight, Linda Aitken, Darlene (Randy) Althiser, and Deborah Allen, 1 brother, William (Marge) Sisson, and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2pm, Thursday, February 5, 2009 at the Mereness-Putnam Funeral home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill, NY. Rev. Kenneth Sisson of the First Baptist Church of Cobleskill will officiate. Family and friends are invited to a period of visitation from 1-2pm, Thursday, prior to the service at the funeral home. Spring interment will be in Sloansville Valley Cemetery, Central Bridge, NY.
