Robert Sossei

Richmondville- Robert S. Sossei, 68, of Winters Drive, succumbed to his lung disease with his wife of 33 years at his side on Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown.

Born December 12, 1950, he was the son of late Richard Sossei and Abigail Lemm Schumaker.  Bob retired as manager from Grand Union, after working at several of their stores.  Most recently he was a supervisor for Surewinner Foods of Saco, Maine.

He enjoyed spending time with family and his greatest pleasure was watching his daughter show horses.  Bob was an avid NASCAR fan.

He was the beloved husband of Lenore (Sielaff) Sossei and the loving father of McKayla Sossei (Stephen) of Clinton.  Bob is also survived by his eight siblings: Richard, Judy, Dorothy, Bette, Jim, Chris, Russell, and Joan, his mother-in-law, Carol Sielaff, sister-in-law, Tammy Sielaff, brother-in-law, Pete (Darla) Sielaff and several nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, Bob was predeceased by his father-in-law, Ernest Sielaff, and brother-in-law, John Sielaff.

A celebration of life will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at Cobleskill Country Club, 2322 State Route 7, Cobleskill, NY 12043.  Memorial contributions may be made to Animal Shelter of Schoharie Valley, Inc., PO Box 40, Howes Cave, NY 12092.
