Robert Charles Siple, Sr. of Grosvenors Corners Rd, Central Bridge, died Wednesday, June 7, 2017. He was 84 years old. Bob lived with his son, Chuck, in Grosvenors Corners before moving to St. Johnsville Nursing Center.
Born on January 16, 1933 in Troy, NY, he was son of Charles and Ann (Snyder) Siple.
Robert graduated from Nott Terrace High School, Schenectady, New York in 1951. Upon graduation, he worked at General Electric. He joined the US Army in 1954 and served in Germany until 1956. He was honorably discharged from the US Army Reserves in 1961. Bob was self-employed and started Mohawk Business Machines in Amsterdam and later Bob's Office Equipment, Hyndsville until he retired in 1998.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Grosvenors Corners. He was also grounds keeper of the Grosvenors Corners Cemetery for many years. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and American Legion. Bob was always busy working with his hands. He loved woodworking and photography.
He was preceded in death by his parents and son, William Siple.
Survivors include his children: Lisa Terk of Rochester Hills, MI, Kimberly Siple of Grosse Pointe Park, MI, R. Charles Siple and Aimee (Miller) Siple of Central Bridge, and Gary Siple of Fountain, CO; his sister, Beth Walter of South Salem, NY; and grandchildren: Laurel (Terk) and Joseph Greenwell of Royal Oak, MI, Nicole Terk of Sterling Heights, MI, Melissa Hutchinson of Hillboro, OH and Andrea (Hutchinson) and Benjamin Dueno of South Riding, VA; and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service with military honors will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, June 16, 2017 at the United Methodist Church, 1148 Grosvenors Corner Rd, Grosvenors Corners, NY with Pastor Mary-Ellen Moore officiating.
