Robert Parsons

Middleburgh: Robert H. Parsons, 84, of Danforth Avenue, died Sunday, July 26, 2009, peacefully at his home.

Mr. Parsons was born September 14, 1924 in Roxbury, NY, son of the late Freda (Hinkley) and Waldo Parsons.

He received his Bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1945 and owned and operated Parsons' Drug Store in Middleburgh from 1948-1981. He was a member of the Chai Phi and Phi Delta Chai Fraternities.

Mr. Parsons was also a member of the Middleburgh Historical Society, a sixty year Mason and a sixty year member of the Middleburgh Reformed Church. He enjoyed playing bridge, reading, and reminiscing. He will be remembered for his memory and love of history.

Mr. Parsons was predeceased on November 28, 2004 by his wife, Doris K. Parsons whom he married December 25, 1953 and a grandson, Jeffrey Robert Beretz.

He is survived by his daughter Janet (Robert Posson) Parsons of Middleburgh,NY son, Jeffrey (Joanne) Parsons of Melbourne, FL, granddaughters Sarah (John) Lloyd of Middleburgh, NY, Mariah (Warren) Morris of Orlando, FL, grandson, Robert Wagner Parsons of Melbourne, FL, great grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Tyler Lloyd both of Middleburgh, NY and special friend, Araxi Hubbard Dutton Palmer of Middleburgh, NY.

A memorial service will be held at 11am, Friday July 31, 2009 at the Middleburgh Reformed Church, River St., Middleburgh, NY. Rev. Jared Van Wagenen IV will officiate. There will be no visitation prior to the service. Inurnment will follow in the Roxbury Cemetery, Roxbury, NY. Cremation took place at Vale Crematory in Schenectady, NY.
