Sharon Springs- Robert W. Merritt, 84, of Sharon Springs Manor, formerly of Cooperstown, died Monday, July 31, 2007, at the adult manor.
He was born September 28, 1922 in New York City, the son of Paul and Elizabeth (Miller) Merritt.
For many years, Mr. Merritt was a farmhand for the Sturm Farm in Schoharie.
He resided in Hammerstone Village apartment complex in Cobleskill before moving to Woodside Hall in Cooperstown in 1992 and the to Sharon Springs Manor in 2006.
There are no known family members surviving him.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, August 13, 2007 at Cobleskill Rural Cemetery with Rev. Gary Edmister of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Richmondville officiating. There will be no calling hours.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home 171 Elm Street Cobleskill and Palmer & Shaylor, Inc. Funeral Home of Middlburgh.
