Robert J. Manchester, 99, of Route 20, Carlisle, New York died Sunday, May 10, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his family.

Born on December 24, 1926, in Esperance, NY, he was the son of John Manchester and Nellie Springstead Manchester.

In 1989, Robert retired from the Carpenter's Union. In 2007, he retired from farming. He gave up Dairy farming first, later retiring up Crop farming as well.

Robert was predeceased by his wife, Gertrude Shirley Wagner Manchester on October 20, 2000.

He is survived by his daughters, Sherry Lynn Manchester of Carlisle, NY, Dawn (Ronnie) Kincaid of Yorktown, PA, Becky Sue Manchester of Colorado, Nellie Jo (Rudy) Chubb of Hanahan, SC; son, Charles Manchester of Carlisle, NY; 11 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Monday, May 18th from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm with a funeral service to follow at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm Street, Cobleskill, NY 12043.

Burial will follow at Carlisle Cemetery.
