Robert Mais,

Warnerville - Robert Mais, Jr., 51, of Leland Lane, died Saturday, November 5, 2011 at his residence following a long illness.

Born September 21, 1960 in Schenectady, Robert lived in this area most of his life.

He was a United States Air Force veteran serving from 1979 until 1980 when he received an honorable discharge. Most recently Robert was a shift manager at McDonald's in Cobleskill.

Robert was an artist, using his talents for painting, woodworking, photography, and sculpting. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed camping, hiking, and cycling.

Survivors include his wife, Helen (Hacker) Mais, whom he married August 23, 2003; his children: Rob Mais and April Oliver, both of Schenectady; his stepsons: Robert Hacker of Schenectady and Dominic Pasqualino of Summit; his parents: Robert and Marjorie (Whitney) Mais of W. Palm Coast, FL; his sister: Cathy Mais and brother, Kenny Mais, both of Florida; and thirteen grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, Nov. 19, 2011 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill with Sister Connie James of St. Vincent de Paul Church officiating. Family and friends are also invited to a period of visitation to be held at the funeral home from 2 to 3 PM on Saturday, prior to the service. Private inurnment will be with military honors at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
