Howes Cave- Robert F. Davis, 87, of Junction Road, Howes Cave, New York passed away peacefully Thursday, July 11, 2024 at Palatine Nursing Home in Palatine Bridge.
Born on December 2, 1936 in Gloversville, NY, he was the son of Roland Davis and Ethel Michaud Davis. He had been a resident of Richmondville for 30 years and also resided at Early Woodland Apartments in Cobleskill.
Bob worked for General Electric for 40 years, retiring as manager of distribution warehouses for large appliances.
He was a veteran of the US Navy serving during the Korean Conflict, obtaining a rank of EM3.
Bob was a member of the VFW.
On May 31, 1959 in Johnstown, NY, Bob married Karen L. Veeder.
He is survived by his wife of over 65 years, Karen L. Davis of Howes Cave, NY; daughters, Shelly (Ric) LaSell, Cheri (Manuel) Bland; son, Daniel (Sharon) Davis; sister, Athalia Donaldson; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, July 20th from 11:00am-12:00pm at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm Street, Cobleskill, NY. A memorial service will immediately follow at 12:00 pm with Pastor Richard Owens officiating and with military honors. Inurnment will take place at Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemtery Friday, August 2, 2024 at 12:00 PM with military honors.
In lieu of flowers contributions in memory of Mr. Robert F. Davis may be made to Alzheimer's Association, Northeastern New York Chapter at www.alz.org
