Richmondville- Robert D. Chase, 76, of State Route 7, died Sunday, March 26, 2006 at Bassett Hospital of Schoharie County in Cobleskill.
Mr. Chase was born July 27, 1929 in Roxbury, NY, the son of David B. and Ella (O'Brien) Chase.
He was a lifelong area resident and retired after 39 years from the Agway Feed Store in Cobleskill where he was manager. Mr. Chase was an exempt member of the Richmondville Volunteer Fire Department.
He was a United States Army veteran, serving from 1955 to 1957 when he received an honorable discharge.
He enjoyed vacationing in Florida, camping and mowing lawns.
On June 28, 1953, he married Bessie Miner and she predeceased him on July 13, 1998.
Survivors include 2 daughters: Linda Tallman of Richmondville, and Laurie McLear of Cobleskill; 3 sons: Robert A. Chase and Dale L. Chase, both of Richmondville, Alan D. Chase of Olathe, Kansas; a sister: Betty Porter of Harrisburg, PA; a brother: Ralph Chase of Arkville, NY; 12 grand-
children, and 1 great-granddaughter.
A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, March 31, at the Tallman Residence 413 State Route 7 Richmondville, with Rev. Marvin Batcher of the Richmondville United Methodist Church officiating.
