Cobleskill- Robert F. Bowen, 88, of Quarry St., died Monday, January 18, 2016 at his residence.

Born March 14, 1927 in Brooklyn, he was the son of James and Pasqualena (Martini) Bowen.

A United State Army veteran, Robert served during World War II from 1945 until receiving an honorable discharge in 1948.

For many years, Robby was employed as a bursar at New York University in NY City.
He moved to Cobleskill to be near his family in 2000.

He was a history buff, particularly interested in World War II, enjoyed reading and loved to take long walks. Robby was also a wonderful uncle and an avid Mets fan.

Survivors include his brother: James Bowen, II and his son, James Bowen, III, both of Eliot, ME; his sister-in-law: Mary Bowen of Summit and her children: Barbara (Joseph) Terracciano and Charles A. Bowen, Jr, all of Summit, Patricia (Bryan) Llewyellen of Cocoa Beach, FL.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 22, 2016 at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 138 Washington Ave., Cobleskill with Rev. Matthew Wetsel of Our Lady of the Valley Church in Middleburgh as celebrant. Family and friends are also invited to a period of visitation to be held from 6 to 8PM on Thursday at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill. Burial will follow the mass in Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
