Sharon Springs- Robert J. Boehler, 76, of Sakon Road, died Saturday, December 11, 2010 at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown, NY
Born September 6, 1934 in Yonkers, NY, he was the son of Joseph and Ida (Kelley) Boehler.
Robert was employed as the Northeast area manager for Taledo Scale in Mount Vernon, retiring in 1996 when he moved to this area. He retired to enjoy spending time with his family along with vacationing at the Cape and in Florida.
While his sons were young, he was active in the Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, PTA and school activities, coaching little league and was president of the Gorton High School Football Parents' Association.
Robert was noted for donating to the WW II Memorial and Museum.
Survivors include his wife, Louise (Romagnoli) Boehler, whom he married June 5, 1954; three sons: Robert J. Boehler, Jr. of Sharon Springs, Craig (Marie) Boehler of Amsterdam, and Mike (Christina) Boehler of Sharon Springs; his sister, Edith (Paul) Liszewski of Naples, FL; three grandchildren: Jessica (Tim) Adams, Justin Boehler (Amanda Jones), and BryAnna Jangro; and two great-granddaughters: Angelina and Alaina Adams.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 PM (Noon) on Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 138 Washington Ave., Cobleskill, with Father Thomas F. Holmes as celebrant. Family and friends are also invited to a period of visitation to be held at the church from 11 AM to 12 PM, Wed., prior to the Mass.
