Richmondville- Robert Harvey Becker, 92, of Palmer Road, died Sunday, June 1, 2025.
Born September 18, 1932, in Summit, he was the son of Fird and Polly (Barry) Becker. He married the love of his life, Marie Jeffers, in August of 1956.
He worked for the Penn Dixie Cement Plant, General Electric, and the Cobleskill Richmondville School District, as a bus driver. He was a resident of Richmondville for 57 years, previously residing on Beards Hollow Road.
Robert served in the US Army in Fort Campbell, Kentucky as a paratrooper, earning the rank of sergeant.
He was a member of the First Christian Church of South Valley for many years.
Robert was a Boy Scout leader. He enjoyed square dancing with his wife. His other hobbies included hunting, bowling, traveling, coin collecting, and pistol shooting. He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox.
Robert is predeceased by his parents, Fird and Polly (Barry) Becker; his wife Marie (Jeffers) Becker; his siblings, Mary Henderickson, Allie Edwards, Clarence Becker, Hauser Becker, and Archie Becker.
He is survived by his children, Donald (Cathey) Townsend of Ashland City, TN, Kim Coffin of Amsterdam, NY, Cindy (Pete) Perri of Slaterville Springs, NY and Fird (Kathy) Becker of Clarkdale, AZ; his sister Ethel Meade; thirteen grandchildren, thirty-one great-grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren.
