Rita Kogler

Cobleskill- Rita L. Kogler (nee LoVerme), 84, of Cobleskill, died Friday, April 26, 2013 at St. Johnsville Nursing Home in St. Johnsville, where she had been a resident for the past few months.

She was the beloved wife of 51 years to the late Albert H. Kogler, Jr., dear mother of Angela (Gary Wyckoff), of Cobleskill, Albert (Connie), of Loveland CO, Peter (Cathy) of Little River, SC and Rita Ann Carver (John) of Earlton, NY; devoted grandmother of Katie Ali (Jafar), Zack Block (Sara), Josh Kogler, Stephanie Kogler, Maggie Kogler. She had three great-grandchildren: Micah, Amy and Kyle, whom she adored. She has many nieces and nephews.

Rita was born in Buffalo, NY on April 6th 1929 to the late Vincent and Angeline LoVerme. She was predeceased by her sister Emma Pici. Rita spent a great deal of her lifetime volunteering for the American Cancer Society, Catholic Charities, public libraries and other organizations. Rita was a dedicated homemaker, an avid knitter and seamstress and she enjoyed traveling with her husband to Europe, Mexico and Canada. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Vincent DePaul Church, 138 Washington Ave., Cobleskill at 2:00 PM on Monday, April 29, 2013. There will be no calling hours.
