Schoharie- Richard, "Doc", A. Wilson, 78, formerly of Grand St., died suddenly Thursday, November 1, 2012 at Cobleskill Regional Hospital after being stricken at his residence in Cobleskill.
Born June 27, 1934 in Willsboro, NY, he was the son of Oliver and Eva (Martin) Wilson.
Doc was educated in the Albany school systems and was a member of the Teamsters Union, Local 294. He was also the proprietor of Sign Graphics in Rotterdam.
A passion for music led Doc to play bass for several of the local bands as well as being the drum major for the former Middlefort Pipe Band. He also enjoyed golf and was an avid photographer.
He was predeceased by a brother, William "Tex" Wilson.
Survivors include his wife, Wendy W. (Waling) Wilson, whom he married April 19, 1986; his children: Tracey (Andrew) Cichon of Brooklyn, Richard Wilson of Albany, and Mark (Joanna) Wilson of El Cajon, CA; his step-children: Bruce (Alison) MacWatters of Ballston Spa, Karen MacWatters of Niskayuna, and Kelly MacWatters (Nick Ryan) of Middleburgh; his brother: Earl (Shirley) Wilson of Albany; seven grandchildren: Lauren and Cate Cichon, Elliott Wilson, Lance Hueston, Carley Ryan, Matt and Griffen MacWatters; and several nieces and nephews.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to one's local rescue squad in Doc's memory.
