Cobleskill- Richard K. Lancie, 80, of Mohawk Drive, died Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at Cobleskill Regional Hospital.

Born December 4, 1933 in Westfield, MA, he was the son of Charles E. and Marion G. (Fox) Lancie.

Richard was a United States Army Veteran, proudly serving his country from 1951 until receiving an honorable discharge in 1954. He retired from Sikorsky Helicopter in Hartford, CT, where he was an engineer.

He was an avid sports fan, favoring the Giants and Yankees. Richard collected coins, scale model cars and comic books. His hobbies included listening to classic country music, watching and feeding birds, and loved cats.

Survivors include his three nieces: Josephine "Joanne" (John) DeGrace of Cobleskill, Laura L. Muscari of Yonkers, and Patricia (Donald) Bopp of Cobleskill; and four great-nephews: John N. DeGrace, Jeremy A. DeGrace, James P. DeGrace, and Jared M. DeGrace all of Cobleskill.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, December 5, 2014 at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville. There will be no calling hours.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill and Palmer & Shaylor Funeral Home in Middleburgh.
