Richard Hotaling

Cobleskill- Richard K. Hotaling, 64, of North Street, died Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at Joe Rosa Hospice Residence in New City, NY.

Born February 10, 1954 in Cobleskill he was the son of Alice (Nichols) and the late Donald Hotaling.

Dick was a lifelong area resident, attending the former Cobleskill Central School and obtaining his first job at Coleco in Amsterdam.  Later he was employed at Walmart for many years.  However, his last occupation was proprietor of Majestic Gardens in Warnerville, making Kissing Balls, Christmas Wreaths, and growing flowers in the springtime and selling them as well.

He was an avid NASCAR fan, excellent cook and gardener as well as carpenter.  He created his own solar panel for the pool and enjoyed coffee with the guys at Walmart.

Dick was predeceased by his father and two siblings:  Pat Fink and John Hotaling.

Cherishing his memories are his mother, Alice Hotaling of Cobleskill; his three siblings:  Carol (Chris) Conley of Sharon Springs, Sue (Bill) Trendell of Esperance and David (Lisa) Hotaling of Watervliet as well as several nieces and nephews.

A private graveside service will be held at Cobleskill Rural Cemetery in the spring. There will be no calling hours.
