Richard A. Daley, 72, of Waterbury Rd., died Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at Bassett Healthcare in Cooperstown, NY, following a brief illness.

Mr. Daley was born in Union City, NJ on June 13, 1936 a son of the late William and Elsie (Kugleman) Daley and served in the United States Army from 1957-1958. He was employed as a machinist and shop steward at General Electric in Schenectady, NY for 33 years before retiring in January of 2002. Mr. Daley enjoyed breeding, training and showing dogs and was a member of the Albany Kennel Club, the German Shepard Dog Club of America and the Doberman Pinscher Dog Club of America.

He was a communicant of St. Catherine's Church in Middleburgh, NY.

Mr. Daley is survived by his wife, Maureen (O'Brien) Daley, of Schoharie, NY, whom he married on October 24, 1959 and his daughter, Sharon (James) Nesbitt of Cobleskill, NY, his grandchildren, Ethan Nesbitt and Stefanie Nesbitt, both of Cobleskill, NY, Shauna Waldin of Waterford, NY and Cara Tighe of Fredericksburg, VA, his sister, Doris (Robert) Ryan of Waldwick, NJ and his brother, William Daley of Waldwick, NJ

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am, Monday, November 10, 2008 at St. Catherine's Church, Main St. Middleburgh, NY. Father Thomas Holmes will be celebrant. Burial will follow, with full military honors, in the Old Stone Fort Cemetery, Schoharie, NY. Friends are invited to call Sunday November 9, 2008 from 6-8pm at the Palmer & Shaylor Funeral Home, 134 River St., Middleburgh, NY.
