Carlisle- Richard F. Buffo, Sr., 65 of Mickle Road, died Saturday, April 1, 2006 at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany.
Born in Cobleskill, he was a lifelong area resident of Schoharie County.
Dick was a United States Navy veteran and worked at Orange Motor Co. as a transmission specialist for 18 years. He was the owner and operator of Buffomatic Transmissions in Carlisle for 25 years
Dick was an avid outdoorsman and family man. He was well known and loved by all.
He was predeceased by his father, Nicholas D. Buffo, and a brother, Nicholas Buffo.
Survivors include his loving wife, Linda (DeNardis) Buffo of 27 years; 6 children: Richard F. Buffo, Jr. (Tammy), Melanie Buffo, Shawn Buffo (Lisa), Denise Delsignore (Dewey), Georgianna Schwartz (Don), and Nicholas Buffo; his mother, Vesta Buffo; 7 grandchildren: Peter, Jr. (PJ), Nicole, Mylea, Samantha, Victoria, Alyssa, and Tyler; 2 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Thursday, April 6, at St. Vincent de Paul Church Washington Heights Cobleskill with Father Thomas F. Holmes as celebrant. Friends may call from 6 to 8 PM on Wednesday at the Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home 171 Elm St. Cobleskill. Burial will be in St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery.
