Hyndsville- Richard C. Barbic, 57, of Lowe Road, died Tuesday, March 11, 2008, unexpectedly at his residence.
Mr. Barbic was born November 22, 1950 in Schenectady, the son of J.Carl Barbic and the late Shirley (Lane) Barbic.
He was a lifelong area resident graduating in the class of 1968 from the former Cobleskill Central School. Mr. Barbic had been a dairy farmer until selling the herd in 1995. He was the Town Assessor for Schoharie, Seward, Sharon, Carlisle, Wright, and Esperance.
Mr. Barbic was a director for the Schoharie County Unit of A.I. membership unit and also served on the former Agway Farm Store Committee in Cobleskill.
He was predeceased by a son, Roger, along with his mother.
Survivors include his wife, Linda (Dibble) Barbic, whom he married March 18, 1972; his son, Derrick (Beth) Barbic of Carlisle; his father, J.Carl Barbic of Hyndsville; his sister, Gail (Thomas) Murray; and a granddaughter, Claire Barbic of Carlisle.
Friends may call from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM on Friday March 14, 2008 at the Merneness-Putnam Funeral Home 171 Elm St. Cobleskill. A private funeral service will be held for the family. Spring interment will be in Cobleskill Rural Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
