Richmondville- Reverend Warren D. Babcock, 84, went to his eternal home on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 with his wife and family by his side.

Warren was born on January 16, 1932, in Albany, NY and was the son of William S. and Dorothy G. (McLuary) Babcock of Richmondville, NY.

He graduated from the former Richmondville Central School in 1950 and later received his Pastoral Degree from Allentown Bible College in Allentown, PA. The Pilgrim Holiness Church of New York, Inc. ordained him. During his tenure as a pastor, he served churches in Amsterdam, Pierrepont Manor, Stone Ridge and East Worcester over a span of more than 35 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, hiking, and camping. He is known for his unique sense of humor, which often included pranks and teasing.

Warren married Wanda J. Dauley, also of Richmondville, on May 9, 1953. Together they had five children, Wendy Brush, Wayne D., William F. (Holly), Karen (James) Hinderliter, and Steve P. (Wendy) Babcock. Several grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive him.

A graveside service will be held at 12PM on Monday, May 2, 2016 at Richmondville Rural Cemetery. A Service of Remembrance will be held in Pierrepont Manor, NY will be held at a later to be announced. There will be no calling hours.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, May 21, 2016, at Pilgrim Holiness Church, 5034 Wilder Road, Pierrepont Manor, NY.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill and Palmer & Shaylor Funeral Home of Middleburgh.
