Homosassa, FL- Raymond Walter Pospisil, 82, of Homosassa, FL, formerly of Summit, NY, died Thursday, March 24, 2011 at HPH Care Center in Brooksville, FL.
Born November 6, 1928 in Manhattan, NY to the late Frederick and Julia Pospisil.
Raymond was a retired mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Northport, Long Island, NY and moved to the Homosassa area twenty years ago from East Northport.
He was an Army veteran of Korea, member of the First Christian Church of Chassahowitzka, NY, Citrus Club, Christian Men's Club, former leader and commissioner for the Boy Scouts of Suffolk County, NY and an assistant District Commissioner for the Gulf Ridge Boy Scouts Council of Florida and a member of the American Legion of Richmondville, NY.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Anselma Pospisil, second wife, Helen Pospisil, and son, John F. Pospisil.
Survived by two daughters: Julia J. Busch and husband, Charles S. of Apopka, FL and Margaret R. Lomuscia-Aydin of Copiague, Long Island, NY; daughter-in-law: Susan Pospisil of East Northport, Long Island, NY; brother: Robert Pospisil of Spring Hill, FL; companion: Ruth Bonner of Inverness, FL; grandchildren: Jennie Boyd and Dominic Lomuscia; and great-granddaughter: Lauren Struna.
Funeral services were held Sunday, March 27, 2011 at Wilder Funeral Home in Homosassa Springs, FL. Interment will be at a later date in Summit Cemetery, Summit, NY.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Foundation.
