Raymond Manchester

Carlisle- Raymond D. Manchester, 74, of Snyder Rd. in Carlisle, died Friday, May 10, 2019 at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown.

Ray was born August 7, 1944 in White Plains, NY and was the son of Alvin and Veronica (O’Shea) Manchester.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Geraldine (Geri) Manchester, whom he married on January 13, 1989, and his niece, Rebecca Bartrow and great- niece, Jewel Brown, both of Carmel, NY.

Ray loved nature, building bird houses and keeping them supplied with bird seed and suet.  He loved his woodstove that he stoked in the winter months with the logs split during the summers.  He could always be found with a crossword puzzle in his hand, playing solitaire on his Kindle each morning, and loved the company of young children.

He was most recently employed at Head Start as a Bus Driver and the Target Distribution Center in Amsterdam.

A memorial service will be held on a Thursday, May 16, at 11:00 am at Fusion Community Church, 375 N. Grand St., Cobleskill, NY. with Rev. Andrew Fetter officiating.
