Middleburgh- Raymond Decker, Jr., 59, of Brookside Lane, died Monday, June 4, 2012 at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown following a brief illness.
Born May 25, 1953, in Cobleskill, he was the son of the late Raymond Decker, Sr., and Elizabeth (Brown) Decker, who survives him.
Ray attended Sharon Springs Central School and was a self employed contractor. While living in Middleburgh for many years, he served as a Scout Master for Boy Scout Troop 58, and was active in the community.
He was predeceased by an older brother as well as his father.
Ray was the devoted father of Jason Blowers of Schenectady. He is also survived by his mother, Elizabeth Decker of Otsego; his brother, Larry (Nancy) Decker of Worcester; a sister, Linda Decker of Troy; special friends: Todd and Leah Borst of Middleburgh; several nieces and nephews and many other close friends.
A memorial service will be held at, 1:00 PM, Sunday, June 10, 2012 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St. Cobleskill, with TIm Hardendorf officiating. Family and friends are also invited to a period of visitation to be held at the funeral home one hour prior to the service, from 12 PM to 1 PM. Inurnment will be private at Sharon Cemetery, Leesville.
