Cobleskill- Ray T. Montane, 74, of Clinton Circle, died Friday, February 26, 2010 at Bassett Healthcare in Cooperstown after being stricken at home.
Born July 6, 1935 in Jersey City, NJ, he was a son of Thomas and Emilia (Yarrish) Montanye. He was a graduate of Garfield High School in New Jersey and continued with his education, taking various college courses.
Ray was a veteran of the United States Army, serving two years active duty during the Korean Conflict enlisting in 1955 and receiving an honorable discharge in 1961.
His career was that of an electronic technician working for several employers, the last being Magnavox.
He was also a talented photographer and artist. Ray was an outdoor enthusiast, loving nature, fishing, hiking, camping, and boating.
He moved from Waldwick, NJ to Cobleskill twenty years ago.
Survivors include his twenty year companion, Mary M. Hodder of Cobleskill; a daughter, Donna Ruglio, and her three sons: Anthony and Vincent Ambrosio, and Ricky Ruglio, all of Randolph, NJ; and daughter, Alison (Gary) Ruglio and their son, Matthew, all of Elmwood Park, NJ; a brother, Marcel Montanye of Alabama; and several nieces and nephews.
There will be no funeral service or calling hours. Cremation will take place at Vale Crematory, Schenectady.
