Randy Wood

Middleburgh: Randy T. Wood, 54, of Mary Taylor Road, died Sunday, August 30, 2009 at Cobleskill Regional Hospital.

Born June 21, 1955 in Stamford, NY, he was a son of Thomas J. and Jeanne (Dedrick) Wood, Sr., who both survive him.

Randy was a 1973 graduate of Middleburgh Central School. He had been a logger all his life, owning and operating Randy Wood Forest Management.

Randy also enjoyed competing in many Logging Expos, along with snowmobiling and had been the recipient of trophies while competing in Grass drag events.

He was a good friend to many.

Survivors include his children: Jennifer (Jeffrey) Stevens and their two children: Paige J. and Johnathan Stevens of Middleburgh; Nathan S. Wood, and Randy T. Wood, II, both of Middleburgh; his parents: Thomas J. and Jeanne Wood, Sr. of Middleburgh; two sisters: Jodi Wood and Sandra J. Wood, both of Middleburgh; two brothers: Douglas Wood of Middleburgh, and Thomas J. Wood, Jr. of Metairie, LA; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews; and his companion, Barbara Salzer and her children, Valerie and Nicholas.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 3, 2009 at Palmer & Shaylor Funeral Home, 134 River St., Middleburgh. Officiating will be John Jarvis, Pastoral Care Manager of Cobleskill Regional Hospital. Friends are also invited to a period of visitation from 6 to 8 PM on Wed. at the funeral home.
