Phyllis J. Chianucci, 87, of Parkway Drive, Cobleskill, New York died on Friday April 17, 2026, at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany, surrounded by family.

Phyllis was born to Ruth and Donald Keyser on July 1, 1938, in Cobleskill. She attended Cobleskill Central School and graduated in 1956. Upon graduation, she worked as a secretary at GE in Schenectady where she later met her husband, Frank.

She and Frank Chianucci married in October 1956 and had two children, Deborah (Andre) Nadeau of Cobleskill, NY and David (Michelle) Chianucci of Endicott, NY. They had four grandchildren: Jason (Alyssa) Nadeau of Colchester, VT, Pierre (Cassi) Nadeau of Cazenovia, NY, Daniel Chianucci of Rochester, NY and Amy (Colby) Fisher of Ewing, NJ; as well as four great-grandchildren: Blake, Nolan, MaryAnne, and Helen Nadeau.

Phyllis was employed by Key Bank for 25 years and would later retire as Vice President and Manager of the Cobleskill Office. She was an active member of the Cobleskill community where she held a variety of roles including president of the BPW, Treasurer of the Schoharie County Chamber of Commerce, Treasurer of Schopeg, and was awarded the FBLA's Outstanding Businessperson of the Year. She also served on the SUNY Cobleskill Secretarial Advisory Board, was Chairperson for the Village of Cobleskill Zoning Board of Appeals, Vice Chairman of the Schoharie County Planning Commission, and Treasurer for the Board of the Cobleskill Rural Cemetery.

In addition to her active roles within the community, Phyllis enjoyed the quiet creativity of quilting, sewing, and crochet, often pouring her love into handmade pieces for those she loved. Her home was rarely without the pitter patter of paws as she was a devoted dog lover who cherished the companionship of many faithful canine friends throughout her life. Above all, Phyllis loved spending time with her family and found that her greatest title was simply being called "Grandma".

Phyllis was predeceased by her parents in 1987 and her husband in 2023. She is survived by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and many relatives and friends who loved her.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday April 24, 2026, from 1:00-2:00pm with a memorial service following at 2:00pm at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm Street, Cobleskill, NY 12043. Burial will follow at Cobleskill Rural Cemetery.
