Peter Braun,

Franklinton (Town of Broome, Schoharie County)- Peter Braun, Jr., 88, of Braun Hill Road, died Monday, January 12, 2009 at Cobleskill Regional Hospital following a brief illness.
Mr. Braun was born August 24, 1920 on the family farm in the Town of Broome, a son of Katherine (Schmidt) and Peter Braun, Sr.
As an adult, he continued with the family dairy farm until selling all the livestock and then was employed as a laborer for the Town of Broome.
He married Ella VanValkenburg, and she predeceased him on June 30, 1993.
Survivors include a son: Larry P. (Donna) Braun of Schenectady; a daughter, Nancy Braun of Cobleskill; and six grandchildren: Kenneth, Deidre, Katrina, Derek, Matthew, and Jason Braun.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, January 16, 2009 at Palmer & Shaylor Funeral Home 134 River St. Middleburgh. Officiating will be Rev. Carol Coltrain of the Huntersland United Methodist Church. Friends are welcome to attend a period of visitation from 6 to 8 PM on Thursday, at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service in Memory's Garden, Colonie.
