Middleburgh: Pauline "Paula" P. Schuellain, 93, of Middleburgh, died Sunday, November 8, 2009 at Robinson Terrace, in Stamford, N.Y. following a brief illness.
Mrs. Schuellain was born on April 30, 1916 in Montreal, Canada, a daughter of the late Henrietta (Berthier) and Jules Pooters. During World War II, she worked as a riveter for Grumman Aircraft. She was also a self employed physical therapist for many years and enjoyed entertaining, reading and playing cards, especially poker. Mrs. Schuellain was a lifetime member of VFW Post # 2718, Franklin Square, Ladies Auxiliary.
Mrs. Schuellain was predeceased by her husband, Arthur Schuellian and sisters: Josephine Czarnyszka, Marguerite Hargenaars, Constance Mc Connell and her brother: Desire Pooters.
Mrs. Schuellain is survived by her daughter: Nannette Amendola of Middleburgh, NY; granddaughters: Marie (Leonard) Cater, Michelle Amendola and Lisa (Todd) Bartholomew, all of Middleburgh, NY; great-grandchildren: Sydney and Taylor Cater and Ashley, Alecia and Logan Bartholomew, all of Middleburgh, NY; several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at the Gerald B.H. Solomon National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd., Schuylerville, NY. Rev. Carol Coltrain will officiate. There will be no calling hours.
