Seward- Paul C. Rich, 89, of Gardnersville Road, died Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at Hillcrest Commons Nursing Home in Pittsfield, MA.
Born November 4, 1922 in Seward, NY, he was a son of Herschel and Lillian (Brown) Rich.
Paul was a lifelong area resident and had owned and operated his family dairy farm for many years in Seward. He was a former bus driver for the former Cobleskill Central School District. He was a member of the Lawyersville Reformed Church.
Paul was an outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing.
Paul was predeceased by his brother, Herschel Theodore "Ted" Rich and son-in-law, Richard Tanner.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley (Smith) Rich, whom he married January 1, 1949; three daughters: Christine (Joseph) Yourno of Middleburgh, Paulette (James) Van Giesen of Smithfield Flats, NY, and Cheryl Rich of Cobleskill; a grandson: Scott Paul Van Giesen; and his sister; Marjorie Josephine "Jo" Aker of Schenectady; as well as two step-granddaughters, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral service and calling hours will be private for the family. Burial will be at a later date in Slate Hill Cemetery, Sharon, NY.
