Warnerville - Patrick D. Flood, Sr., 63, of Tinkley Hollow Road, died Friday, July 1, 2011 at his residence with his loving family at his side.

Born April 16, 1948 in New York City, he was the son of the late Eugene L. Flood and Josephine (Maloney) Flood, who survives him.

Patrick was a graduate of William Cullen Bryant High School in Queens and enlisted in the United States Army in 1968. He served as an Infantry Soldier and was decorated with the National Defense Service Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, two Overseas Bars, Vietnam Service Medal, three Purple Hearts, Army Commendation Medal, Marksman, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm, and Sharpshooter. He was honorably discharged in 1970. He was a member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign War, and Disabled American Veterans.

Patrick was employed for more than twenty-five years with Consolidated Edison when he retired as Emergency Response Gas Operations Manager. He was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Assoc.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara (Neary) Flood, whom he married June 13, 1970; his children: Patrick D. (Kathleen) Flood, Jr. of Richmondville, Maureen (Joseph) Felitti of Rocky Point, Denise (Kenneth) Wagner of Farmingdale; his mother, Josephine Flood of Smithtown, NY; his siblings: Colleen Higgins of Sound Beach, NY, Deborah Kinkaid of Miller Place, Eugene M. Flood of Pearl River, Joseph Flood of New Hyde Park, and Gerard Flood of Bayside; twelve grandchildren: Patrick D. Flood, III, Reilly, Rachel, Kaitlyn, Samantha, and Thomas Flood, Christina Felitti, Valerie, Kevin, Barbara, Sean, and Connor Wagner; and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 AM on Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 138 Washington Ave., Cobleskill with Father Thomas Holmes as celebrant. A period of visitation will be held from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM on Monday, July 4, at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill. Interment with military honors will be at 12:00 PM noon, Tues., at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.

Patrick's family extends their deepest gratitude to Dr. Joseph Luz and Catskill Area Hospice and Palliative Care for their compassion and care during this difficult time.
