COBLESKILL a�" Patricia Ann Bates, 55, passed Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at Cobleskill Regional Hospital.
Born December 2, 1954 in Falls Church, VA, she was the daughter of Patricia (Delmore) and Paul Bauman of Stafford, Texas. On November 8, 1973 she married Harvey Lee Bates, 62, of Oneonta, NY.
Always the light of each other's lives, together they shared a deep love worthy of generations and welcomed three children into the world, which only deepened the embrace of the home they provided. She worked for many years as a care provider and recently retired from Visiting Nurses.
She was predeceased by her mother on August 6, 2004.
She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Christy Lee Bates, 35, and her companion Brian Mooney, Jr. Of Broadalbin, NY; two sons: Jason Paul Bates, 33, and his fiance Casey Lamont of Schoharie, NY and Andrew Ellis Bates, 27, and his wife Cassandra O'Brien-Bates of Iowa City, IA; two beautiful granddaughters: Abygael and Emma Bates of Schoharie; and numerous brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, April 23, 2010 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm Street, Cobleskill. Officiating will be Rev. Andrew Fetter of the Wesleyan Church in Cobleskill. Friends are also invited to a period of visitation at the funeral home from 2 to 3 PM, on Fri., prior to the service. Cremation will follow the service at Vale Crematory, Schenectady.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Second Floor Psychiatric In-Patient Facility at Bassett Hospital, 1 Atwell Road, Cooperstown, NY 13326.
