Cobleskill- Neora "Nicki" E. Jorgensen, 55, of Shad Point Road, died Saturday, February 12, 2011 at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany with her loving family at her side.

Born April 2, 1955 in Summit, she was a daughter to the late Oraien and Nellie (Foote) Cole. Nicki was a lifelong area resident, graduating in 1973 from the former Richmondville Central School.

For over twenty years, she was employed at Agway Petroleum in Cobleskill and for the past fourteen years Nicki was office manager, also known as "the boss", at Grantier Oil Company in Cobleskill.

Family was the joy of Nicki's life, as she spent time with her boys when they were young as their Cub Scout Leader, and then continued to be involved in their everyday lives, as she nurtured their growth. She loved being a homemaker, baking, sewing, enjoying nature and snowmobiling with her husband and family. Along with being a devoted wife and mother, Nicki truly enjoyed the time spent with her grandchildren, they have been her life and strength for some time.

Nicki was also predeceased by a sister, Freda Eckert, as well as her parents.

Survivors include her husband, David Jorgensen, whom she married April 21, 1973; her two sons: Michael (Sarah) Jorgensen of Cobleskill and Matthew (Heather) Jorgensen of Cobleskill; two granddaughters: Samantha and Rachael Jorgensen; three grandsons: Matthew and Ethan Jorgensen and Anders Jorgensen; her sister: Neoma Cole of Latham; her brother: Ivan (Jane) Cole of Summit; a brother-in-law: Edward Eckert of Harpersfield; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 17, 2011 at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill with Rev. Geordie Davey officiating. Family and friends are also invited to a period of visitation to be held at the funeral home from 5 to 8 PM on Wednesday. Spring interment will be in Zion Rural Cemetery.
