Nelson Back

Central Bridge- Nelson Edward Back, 61, of State Route 30A, died Thursday, Nov. 2, 2006 due to injuries sustained in a logging accident in the Town of Wright.
Nelson was born April 12, 1945 in Cobleskill the son of Harry E. and Alice (Lawton) Back.
He was a graduate of Hudson Valley Community College and the apprentice program at the Watervliet Arsenal. Nelson continued with being employed at the arsenal for many years as a machinist.
He had also been the water commissioner for the Central Bridge Water District.
Nelson was an avid fisherman and hunter, and was a member of the Rod & Gun Club.
He was also involved with the annual AmJam held in Cobleskill and the Harley Fest held in Central Bridge.
Survivors include his sister- Maxine Back-Heffron of Central Bridge and Port Orange, FL; his brother, Jeff (Kim) Back of Oneonta; a son, Michael Marable of Port Orange, FL;
and a daughter, Jennifer Back of Daytona Beach, FL; and 2 nieces.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, Nov. 6, at Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home 171 Elm St. Cobleskill with Rev. Steffen Zehrfuhs of the Bethany Lutheran Church in Central Bridge officiating Friends may call from 5 to 7 PM on Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Cobleskill Rural Cemetery.
