Nathan Alan Merchant

Nathan Merchant, 37, of Cobleskill, New York, passed unexpectedly on Friday, March 1, 2024.

Nathan was born on July 8, 1986 in Cooperstown, NY to Leonard Merchant and Cheryl (Merkley) Traino. He attended Cobleskill and Sharon Springs schools.

Nathan enjoyed doing carpentry for others and worked for A&K Slipforming.

He was known by all his neighbors for always being so kind and helpful. He loved nature and being outside in any weather. He loved hiking, exploring the woods, camping, and riding his bicycle.

Nathan is survived by his father, Leonard Merchant; mother, Cheryl (Merkley) Traino; siblings, Ryan Merchant, Tara Kenney, Jordan Brown, Tanner Brown, Kalina Merchant, and Brandon Merchant; grandmother, Lois Merkley; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. He is also survived by his greatest joy in life, his service dog, Bubbles.

Nathan was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Evelyn Bush and Robert Merchant; maternal grandfather, Ronald Merkley.

Nathan will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
